Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy

What is Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy?

 Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy (BnHBT) is a total mind & body care system, which has been developed from the pain management systems with the oriental theory of balance and holistic (harmony) approach, and physical therapy of western medicine/science. Therefore the techniques and the theories of Harmonic Balancing Therapy are based on the physical therapy and the oriental medicine with author’s creative ideas.

Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy is specially effective on pain. However, Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy treats not only local pain area but also restores whole mind and body’s pathology into a good condition.

Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy uses some acupoints and meridian theory from oriental medicine and neuronal reflex theory and trigger points on the muscle from western medicine/science and physical techniques with author’s invented hand techniques.

A balance is the most important thing to maintain a healthy life. Losing a balance means a disease according to oriental medicine. Total balance of each part creates a harmony. Therefore, harmonic balancing therapy helps to create the total harmonic status of body and mind free from disease by balancing the each part of our body.

A balance comes originally from a idea of yin-yang theory in oriental medicine which is analogous to homeostasis or a balance of sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves or hormonal balance of hyper-secretion and hypo-secretion in western medicine.

Bien Harmonic balancing therapy helps maintaining the balance of yin-yang within a body and a mind to prevent or to cure the diseases.

How does Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy work?

Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy (BnHBT) works through three main ways; electrical nerve conduction, meridian flowing, and wave propagation. BnHBT regulates the internal physiology through electrical nerve conduction, specially sympathetic nerve and parasympathetic nerve, which relays the signal to the hormonal regulation, and then this hormone affects to the internal physiology such as immune system, digestive system, urinary system, reproductive system, cardiovascular system etc. However all phenomona of BnHBT can not be explained only by western nervous conduction theory. Meridian theory from oriental medicine can explain some phenomena of BnHBT. Meridian flowing is different from nervous pathway and BnHBT balances the meridian flowing to regulate the qi of the internal body by tapping the BN points of BN programs on the skin (muscle) areas.

     And some other phenomena of BnHBT can not be explained by nervous conduction and even meridian flowing. Wave propagation can explain some parts of BnHBT.

BnHarmonic Balancing Therapy (BnHBT) creates the wave on the skin and muscle by the mechanical energy of stimulation (tapping & twisting). BnHBT also changes the electrical properties on the skin.  BnHBT generates an electromagnetic energy of wave. This wave working as a cell signal carries an energy and information and it is transferred to the local problematic area through the electrical freeway of nervous system and meridian system (which is connected with internal organs) and bio-matrix (clustered water or collagen) and it triggers the cascade of cellular and hormonal activities with wave signal through living matrix. It propagates to the whole body via the next relay of information from endocrine system to immune system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, reproductive system, urinary system, etc. It makes a bio-resonance with local area of concern and whole body to create the balance of each part and harmony of entire systems. Finally, it accomplishes the therapeutic effect.

  • Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy as an integrative technique of western medicine (nervous system, reflex) and oriental medicine(meridian flowing of qi) and some other alternative medicine(wave and frequency of vibrational medicine, energy medicine) will harmonize the internal physiology of cells and tissues and organs by the balancing the pertinent wave (frequency resonance) and energy, and endocrine system, immune system, cardiovascular system, reproductive  system, urinary system, muscle-skeleton system, digestive(gastro-intestinal) system through the nervous system of western medicine and meridian systems of oriental medicine and bio-matrix system.
  • Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy has a non-invasive tapping and twisting technique with specially designed metal instrument by the author. So patients don’t get necessarily a fear as conventional acupuncture does.
  • Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy uses acupoints of oriental medicine and trigger points of western medicine and clinically effective “BN points”  identified by the author.
  • However, main effectiveness of Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy comes from its therapeutic programs which are called “BN Programs”.

     Founder of BnHBT   was also trained with medical hypnotic technique. So a healing technique of medical hypnosis  is added to Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy. Sincere intent of treatment affects the patient in positive way not only psychologically but also with good qi transfer as a real physical entity (wave) which was reported by Chen (2004)’s article.

     The drug is mainly used in western medicinal treatment. The drug binds to the receptor or carrier to take into action. However, Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy does not need a receptor or carrier. BnHBT stimulus triggers the production of opioid peptides such as endorphin, enkephalin, and dynorphin in the brain to ease the pain.

     BnHBT has another way to give a signal at wave level to the cell to recover back to the normal physiology. These are qi regulation through the meridian and wave propagation through body matrix to recover the cells from abnormal physiology.

Which areas is Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy so effective?

 BnHBT affects the internal organs and corrects the unbalanced internal physiology by the twisting and tapping applied on the skin and muscle.

Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy is specially effective on pain management such as myofascial pain, arthritis, migraine, cancer pain, post operative pain, dental pain (TMJ), tendonitis, osteoarthritis, disc herniation, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck pain, backache, headache, frozen shoulder pain, sciatica, and it is also effective on rehabilitation from stroke, sports injuries, neural disturbance, whiplash, and anti-aging, impotence and general disturbances of internal physiology. And it also relieves the stress (physical, emotional), fatigue, depression, and it enhances the sports performance and sexual ability.

Concepts of Balance

Physiology of our body has a limitation.  There are 2 kinds of limitation; upper limit and lower limit. We have to live in between the range to maintain the normal healthy life. Physiology over the upper limit or under the lower limit means losing a balance, which enters the pathological status. We should be always careful not to out of the normal range. Once we are off the normal range, we need all kinds of treatment to recover back to normal range. According to the classic of oriental philosophy “ZoongYong; to balance in center” is the best morality for men to do,  and this principle is also applied to our body not to lose a balance and to keep a good healthy status. Our body’s temperature is constantly around 37.5oC. PH of our blood is constantly around PH 7.4. Our internal organs are regulated (balanced) by actions of autonomic nervous system which consists of sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves.  Balance of hormonal secretion is also important for normal physiology. Too much secretion is hyper state of pathology, and too little secretion is hypo status of abnormal physiology. Therefore, everything in our body must be regulated in order to keep a good balanced condition to perform the normal and healthy life.

 Categories of balance according to western perspective are;

  • muscle balance (agonist muscle versus antagonist muscle)
  • skeletal(structural) balance(column upright, right versus left):

The proper alignment of the bones to have a right posture, unbalanced bone alignment distorts body structure. It affects the nerve and circulation and it causes pain.

  • nutritional balance:

       If there is no balance in your diet, you will be obese or skinny. Either will not be normal. If you take too carbohydrate and protein and lipid but uses little then you will be obese. Malnutrition result you in being skinny and unhealthy.

      The balance of vitamin and mineral is also important too.

Some chronic pain is caused by lacking of vitamins and minerals. Smoking destroys vitamin C, but overdose of vitamin C can deplete vitamin B12. Calcium ion is important in the contraction and relaxation of muscle fibers. Iron enables muscle tissue to use the nutrients and oxygen and regulates body temperature. Inadequate iron intake make you feel cold all the time. However, too much iron leads to discoloration of the skin, heart disease, and slow recovery of stroke. Potassium deficiency is also bad for heart and other smooth muscle function. Magnesium is needed  for the body’s use of calcium. Low levels of magnesium is related with muscle hyperexcitability and weakness.

  • energy balance (hyperactivity vs hypoactivity)
  • nerve balance:

 activity of sympathetic nerve and parasympathetic nerve must be

  • hormonal balance:

        over-producing (hyperactivity)  or less-producing(hypoactivity) hormone

        secretion) unbalance the physiology of body, e.g. hypothyrodism and

  • immune balance (allergy by over immune activity)
  • metabolite balance(physiological balance):

Hyperglycemia (too much sugar in blood) causes diabetes. Hypoglycemia (too little sugar in blood) also make you weak, fainting, sweating, shaking, visual disturbances, restlessness.

Too much uric acid accumulation in the joint becomes gout.

  • neurotransmitter balance
  • inter-cell balance (interleukin or cytokine)
  • emotional balance (not too over-joy or not too over-sorrow)
  • stress balance (too much stress versus too little stress)
  • lymph balance (edema by excessive tissue fluid)

Based on oriental medicine perspective there are areas to be balanced for example;

  • qi balance (excessive versus deficient)
  • blood balance (excessive versus deficient)
  • yin and yang balance (excessive versus deficient)
  • internal organ balance: lung versus liver, spleen versus kidney
  • meridian balance:

Qi and blood should be balanced in meridian in order to maintain healthy life. Too much qi and blood  make the meridian excessive and too little qi and blood make the meridian deficient. This can affect the organs associated with pertinent meridians. Both are pathological state.

      Everything in our body should be balanced in order to be total harmonious
      status for good health.

Concepts of Harmony

Harmony and balance are basically same meaning for healthy status. However, if we say some difference between balance and harmony, a balance is a status of equilibrium mostly between two points, even though there are multiple points of balance. A balance has some implication of opposition. Yin and yang is a balance and also a harmony. Unbalance of yin and yang means losing harmony and losing a health.

 Total balanced status of   each balance is called harmony. Harmony can not come from the unbalanced status.  Therefore, harmony is an epitome of total healthy status. That is why we name our program “Harmonic Balancing Therapy”. We adjust each unbalanced status of each category of balance such as balance of qi(excessive qi or deficient qi), balance of blood(excessive and deficient), balanced hormonal secretion(hyper or hypo), balanced nervous reaction of sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves. The harmony of our body achieves by the total balance of each internal organs such as liver, heart, spleen, lung and kidney. So we try to achieve a perfect harmonious status by balancing the each unbalanced status.

     Therefore, harmony is a total balanced status of each balance.

Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy versus acupuncture

The acupuncture tradition dated back  thousands of years ago in China. The oldest record about acupuncture is “HuangDiNeiJing- SuWen”(The yellow emperor’s classic of internal medicine- simple questions; translated in English by Veith, 1972), which was written around 500 B.C. It was introduced to USA around 1970s by the effectiveness of acupuncture.   The acupuncture  uses an needle  which is pierced in the skin at acupoint according to oriental medicine theory such as yin-yang, zangfu, and meridian. Theory of acupuncture is largely based on metaphysical philosophy set up by the rationalization of direct insight of natural phenomenon and clinical experiences.

The acupuncture techniques used in traditional oriental medicine is an invasive, which means it penetrates the skin and it might cause the infection through the puncturing hole and the damages to nerves, blood vessels, internal organs and it leaves some post-acupuncturing soreness. And a patient feels pain when a needle is penetrating. And also the needle itself gives a scary feeling to patients.

In contrast to acupuncture, Harmonic Balancing Therapy uses non-invasive method which taps & twists the specific area of Bien Points according to the programs except some needling on the head and the ear(this may be substituted by similar stimulation for non-acupuncturists). And Harmonic Balancing Therapy is fortified more than acupuncture by combining with physical therapy techniques.

Bien Harmonic Balancing Therapy versus physical therapy

Physical therapy has a limitation for its application to various conditions of patients’ internal and external problems.

Normally physical therapy handles the physical misfit of patient and does not treat the problems of the internal physiology of patient. However, Harmonic Balancing Therapy treats patients’ internal and external problems both with more extensive techniques and theories from acupuncture principles, physical therapy technique, and author’s special techniques and ideas of an invented programs.
